Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Whilst Criggin Barn & Shepherd’s Hut is very welcoming we have some Terms & Conditions that are within the owners right & must be adhered to before and during your stay. We reserve a right to, without reason, to refuse a booking.

Booking Conditions & Changes

A 25% deposit of all costs is required at booking. The deposit must be paid within 3 days of the booking being placed. The balance of the holiday cost is to be paid, at the latest, 8 weeks before the first day of the holiday. If you book 8 weeks or less before you are due to stay 100% of the holiday cost must be paid. We understand things can change, so if you do wish to amend your booking please let us know as soon as possible and we will do everything we can to try to accommodate a new date for your party – though we can’t make any guarantees about finding a new date. A contract will be received via e-mail to the guest booking the accommodation once deposit is paid. The main party booker will be responsible to adhere to these terms & conditions and it is their responsibility to ensure their party knows & complies with this information. Late payments are not permitted, we will send email reminders of when these payments should be made, however failure to comply with sending payments on dates given will result in a formal termination of your stay & all payments received beforehand forfeited.

However, we do have a cancellation policy:

If the booking is cancelled within 2 weeks before stay the deposit will be taken.

If the booking is cancelled 8 weeks before the staying date then 25% of payment will be given back.

We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellations. If you choose not to, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

Damages

We treat our guests with the utmost care & consideration, however at Criggin Barn & Shepherd’s Hut if there should be any major damages within the property we wish to know about them as soon as possible, even within your stay, so we can fix them if possible.

Smoking Policy

We do not allow smoking or vaping within Criggin Barn & Shepherd’s Hut. If a member of your party smokes or vapes, please use the outside space. However, please be aware that if a guest smokes or vapes within the property it will result in permanent termination of occupancy and the cost of letting and deposit will not be given back, as well as an extra cleaning charge given.

Fire Risks

In the event of a  fire please re-locate to the lower driveway to be sure of your safety. A fire extinguisher, fire blanket, first aid kit and, fire & carbon monoxide alarms are installed within the property. If any of these seem faulty please let us know as soon as possible so we can ensure this is fixed as your safety is our main priority.

Family & Friends

We can only accommodate 8 people (plus 2 if using the Shepherd’s Hut), so if we find additional guests staying within the property or premises your stay will be terminated. A gentle reminder that no stag, hen or same-sex groups are permitted. Pets will be charged at an extra £50. We have neighbours that live nearby, and wish that the noise is kept to a minimum outside the property past 10pm.

Refuse & Recycle

We are an eco friendly home, so we ask that all guests staying recycle appropriately. In the kitchen we have two recycling bins in the cupboard to the right side of the sink. The outside bins are located at the bottom of the driveway by the stream and have signs on them to indicate which recycling can be placed in which bin. We politely ask that the kitchen bins are emptied when departing the property.

Parking

Our top driveway (outside the house) has space for 3 cars and there is enough room for 2 cars down at the bottom of the driveway. Please be aware that our neighbours require access to the lower driveway so allow enough space for them to enter and exit at all times.

Breakages, Damages & Theft

Prior to your stay at Criggin Barn & Shepherd’s Hut we will always do an inventory to make sure nothing is broken, faulty or missing. However, we know things may be missed or not work upon your arrival. Therefore, we ask if anything is faulty or broken upon your arrival that you contact us as soon as possible so we can rectify this & make your stay as happy as possible. If there are any damages or breakages during your stay we ask that you report these promptly, especially before check-out. An inventory inspection will be conducted when you leave the property, so in order to keep your deposit we strongly advise that you let us know of anything before you leave so you can receive your full deposit back. The owner reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.

At Criggin we do not condone theft, we reserve the right to keep any of the deposit that we think appropriate for the stolen goods. Therefore, it is integral you let us know on arrival if certain things you expect are to be missing. If they have been damaged or broken let us know punctually.

Noise

We have neighbours, not directly opposite, but close enough for them to hear noise disturbances. We ask to keep the noise to a minimum when in the lower garden at all times. We ask that you head inside to enjoy your stay after 10pm. Please be respectful when opening & closing the bridal path and when using the lower driveway as other neighbours need to use the lower driveway at all times.
